The Catholic University of America

Transportation and Parking Services

Welcome to the Office of Transportation and Parking Services at The Catholic University of America. Our purpose is to provide students, faculty, staff, guests, and visitors of the University with a safe environment for pedestrians while affording them the ability to obtain parking permits, and to keep those on campus apprised of major events that could affect parking on campus.

Transportation and Parking Services is responsible for issuing parking permits and identification cards. We are tasked with administering a comprehensive campus transportation program in keeping with University policies and planning. This includes, but is not limited to, shuttle bus operations, parking enforcement, and coordination of vehicle immobilization with the Department of Public Safety.

Campus Energy Project

The comprehensive project to upgrade University utility systems is underway.

Effects to parking and shuttle routes will be communicated in advance.

For the most up-to-date information regarding this project as it relates to campus transportation and parking, please refer to the Energy Project website.

Brookland-CUA Metro Station Closed July 21 - September 3

Metro has closed the Brookland-CUA and Rhode Island Avenue-Brentwood stations for repairs.

For customers traveling to and from the Brookland or Rhode Island Avenue stations, free shuttle buses will provide alternate service between Fort Totten, Brookland, Rhode Island Avenue, and NoMa-Gallaudet U stations. In addition, Metro will operate express shuttles between Brookland and Rhode Island Avenue and the areas of Metro Center, Gallery Place, and Union Station.

There will be no Red Line service between Fort Totten and NoMA-Gallaudet U stations. Red Line customers should transfer to Green or Yellow line trains between Fort Totten and Gallery Place to avoid the work zone. Metro will add capacity to the Green/Yellow lines to accommodate Red Line riders, including running some Yellow Line trains to and from Greenbelt. During rush hours, Red Line trains will operate every six minutes between Shady Grove and NoMa-Gallaudet, and every 10 minutes between Glenmont and Fort Totten.

The University's dedicated shuttle from the CUA Metro will operate on an extended schedule from 8:00am - 10:0am Monday - Friday while the Brookland-CUA Metro Station is closed. At this time, the University shuttle will remain on the campus side of the Brookland-CUA Metro station on John McCormack Road. We ask that patrons please utilize the connecting tunnel if dropped off by Metro shuttle buses on the Brookland side of the station.
